چکیده
Abstract Background Diabetes is one of the most common causes for peripheral neuropathy which warrants early diagnosis and treatment. The conventional nerve conduction studies appear to be normal if few roots are escaping lesion. In view identifying a better clinical testing method, late response index comprising parameter F wave was constructed compared with diagnosing ability other parameters. Methods This hospital-based cross-sectional study conducted among male diabetics aged 30 50 years in tertiary care hospital. Maintaining an ambient temperature 28 °C following supramaximal stimulation median both upper limbs, using digitalized conduction/electromyography/EP machine, F-wave tracing obtained. Results detected greater number subjects diabetic when mean latency, M latency F–M ratio. Conclusion can used as surrogate electrophysiological detect at stage aids prognosis.

متن کاملdetermination of f-wave latency in individuals aged 20 years and older
determination of f-wave latency is a simple and valuable method in evaluating proximal part of peripheral nerves. the aim of this study was to determine the mean minimal peroneal f wave (f min) in healthy individuals. a total of 282 individuals were studied. the mean age was 45.6 years. the f min (± sd) for 564 peroneal nerves was 47.09 ± 4.51 ms. the f min for the age group of 20-45 and height...

OBJECTIVE The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of an aldose reductase inhibitor, epalrestat, on autonomic and somatic neuropathy at an early stage in type 2 diabetic patients by assessing the pupillary light reflex and minimum latency of the F-wave. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS A total of 30 diabetic patients with subclinical or mild diabetic neuropathy were randomly alloc...
متن کاملRatio of motor nerve conduction velocity to F-wave conduction velocity in diabetic neuropathy.
OBJECTIVE To investigate the usefulness of a new parameter, the ratio of motor nerve conduction velocity to F-wave conduction velocity (M/F ratio), for the differential diagnosis of diabetic neuropathy. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Nerve conduction studies were conducted in 95 patients with diabetic neuropathy, 44 nondiabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy, and 24 normal control subjects....
